Which file types can be protected with Content Protection?
Our Content Protection supports protection of the most commonly used file types. Currently we can support the following file types but not limited to: PDF, Djvu, HTM, HTML, SWF, PNG, JPG, GIF, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, AVI, MPG, WMV, ASF, DCM, DIC, IMA, NEMA.
Do I need a special software to read protected files?
No. Protected files open naturally with standard applications such as Adobe Reader, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player. HTML links, simple double click or any other method for opening a file works naturally.
Is the Copy Protection compatible with Windows Vista?
Yes. The technology is fully compatible with Windows Vista and Windows Vista 64bit.
Does the security protection support 64 bit operating systems?
Yes. The technology supports Windows XP 64 bit, Windows Vista 64 bit, Windows 7 64 bit, Server 2003 64 bit, Server 2008 64 bit, as well as all other 32 bit Windows operating systems from Windows 2000 and above. Protected content files can be viewed on 64 bit OS using standard 32 bit viewers and players.
Can you protect content for mobile phones and other platforms?
Yes. The unique technology is platform independent. We can develop custom copy protection and DRM solutions for various platforms.
Does the protection include a special viewer for opening protected files?
No. Protected files open naturally with standard applications such as Adobe Reader, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player. HTML links, simple double click or any other method for opening a file works naturally.
Can I protect PDF and HTML files that contain hyperlinks?
Yes. The technology doesn't change the functionality of the protected files. Links among files including PDF and HTML files remain fully functional. We also support protection of files with embedded objects such as HTML files containing pictures and flash animations.
Can you content protection block copy & paste?
Yes. Our content protection has an option to block copy & paste. We can allow protected files to open naturally in standard applications such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera, while at the same time restricting the use of copy & paste on protected text, images and other contents.
Can I protect my files with a password?
Yes. Our content protection has an option to lock individual files with passwords. The end user will be required to enter the password upon accessing the protected file. Files can be locked with the same password or different passwords.
Is it possible to apply time limits on my files?
Yes. Our time limit feature is used mainly as a version control mechanism that encourages users to obtain current version of the data they use. For example, this feature is used to prevent technicians from servicing new equipment with old schematics.
Can you prevent printing of the protected files?
Yes. Our content protection includes a feature for optionally block printing of protected files.
Can you protect proprietary file formats?
Yes. Virtually any file type can be protected.
